Our Music Teacher's Birthday!

Today was Ms. Sanders' birthday! The students and staff at Barton Pond made her feel loved and appreciated by making her signs and pictures that communicated their gratitude for her hard work at the school and by getting her a cake. Below you can see the kindergarteners holding up signs to celebrate her birthday after singing "Happy Birthday" to her and a picture of the cake that was given to her. We hope that Ms. Sanders celebrates many more birthdays during her time at Barton Pond!

Galaxy Fun Park

Max Allen, Cara Hahn, Diem Martin, and Griffin Rhyne won free games for Galaxy Fun Park at a drawing that occured at the 2023 Wake County Honors Chorus event! Today we had a blast jumping on trampolines and playing laser tag. Our team actually won the laser tag challenge! Below you can see Max, Cara, and Griffin leaping on the trampoline and standing outside of the laser tag area after winning the match. I am looking forward to doing more fun activities with the students in our music clubs!

Music Club Pizza Parties & Award Ceremonies

On Thursday, June 1st, 2023 we had our first music club pizza parties and award ceremonies! Students were able to eat pizza and ice cream while having fun with their peers in music clubs at these celebrations. Our musical bullfrogs also received awards for participating in music clubs and for showing leadership among students in the Barton Pond music program. Some students also received superlative awards. The students in chorus, ukulele, and percussion clubs did a great job on their performances this year at Barton Pond, Pieces of Gold, and at the Wake County All-County Honor Chorus event. I am looking forward to having a great year with the students in these clubs next year!
